Is there any published data on the frequency of getting a spin on the $100 single coin Wheel of Fortune machines?
That desire has made the Wheel of Fortune, Megabucks, and other high jackpot slot machines so popular. Year after year the Wheel of Fortune and Megabucks slot machines continue to be a favorite of casino goers. Even people that don’t really like to play slots will throw $20 in a machine to see if they can hit a life changing jackpot. Wheel of Fortune – Features. Wheel of Fortune, unlike any traditional slot game includes 5 reels as well as 5 paylines. Even with the lesser number of paylines, the game includes over 700 possible winning combinations on every spin. The denominations range between $0.01 and $5. The highest payout you can expect from Wheel of Fortune is 50,000.
I don't know the answer to that, but one interesting feature is that if you roll a blank, no symbols on the pay line, it pays back one unit.

That depends on the game. There are various versions of the $100 Wheel of Fortune. I know the version of the game you are talking about.
There are other versions where 'blanks' do not give you your money back or a free spin.
My only experience with higher limit WoF is the $5 machines. I have had some pretty good luck with these machines... $200-300 gives you a good shot (60-70%) to hit the spin. Extrapolating 2-credit $5 to 1-credit $100... $2-3k would be necessary. Obviously, considering the $100 wheel payouts this can't be possible, but it's all I've got.

I have a buddy who put $3,000 into a $100 WOF machine at Bellagio. (As I wrote on my forum, this was NOT me.) He had 80 plays on that $3,000 and not even one spin. His biggest wins were $500.
Hence the question: any published stats on how many plays to get a spin?
I've seen some discussions that ranged from 20 to 40. He played 80 and got nada.

Maybe it's got a better return than the lower denominations, but that doesn't sound that unreasonable. Just unfortunate he got a bad run while playing that higher denomination. *been there, done that
Nobody ever complains when they repeatedly bonus unusually close together, of course.
It happens.
Now if the guy played 10,000+ spins we'd have some data.

I love the $100 WOF machines. I've had some really lucky runs only a few weeks ago where I put $1,000 in and hit a bonus after 2 pulls. While waiting for the attendant for a $5,000 hand pay...I started playing the machine directly to the right of it. Had put another $1,000 in and hit a bonus after 4 pulls and hit for $3,000. Other trips I felt like was feeding the machine and pull after pull nothing. Honestly though, I've hit bigger wins on $5 and $25 machines. Still nothing higher than a single hit of $10,000. I'm still chasing that big hit!! LOL
